The Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation) is a crucial regulation for chemical products. DUCC is committed to supporting the regulation's aims of protecting human health, environment as well as the free movement of chemical substances and mixtures, while enhancing competitiveness and innovation. This also includes facilitating worldwide trade by considering harmonised criteria for classification and labelling that have been carefully developed within the United Nations (UN) structure, resulting in the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.

DUCC wishes to support the revision of this important piece of regulation, towards a future in line with the objectives of the chemical strategy of sustainability.

DUCC submitted contributions to both the open public consultation and targeted consultation, setting out its priorities for the adaptation of these key pieces of legislation, which form the cornerstone of chemicals regulation in Europe.
